Henry VIII Stairlift

According to TV historian, David Starkey, Henry VIII invented the stairlift !
Dr Starkey has discovered that he used a bespoke "Stairthrone" to assist his 30 stone frame upstairs.
Described in royal records as "a chair that goeth up and down" the stairlift is thought to have been installed at Whitehall Palace in London.
There doesn't appear to be any pictures but Dr Starkey believes that a block and tackle system would have been used with servants pulling on the ropes.
Henry VIII is also known to have owned at least three thrones on wheels.
